Local processing

A closer look.

Real spending data, with account names removed. Open any image to see it at full size.

Open Steam. See your spending.

Once installed, the SPENDING link in Steam’s Store navigation opens your dashboard. History loads automatically, and a local cache makes return visits faster. Refresh from Steam rebuilds it whenever you need.

Clear about the numbers.

Refunds reduce net spending. Wallet top-ups stay separate to avoid double counting. Each currency keeps its own totals, and the dashboard warns you if history could not finish loading.

Your history stays local.

The extension reads and stores purchase-history details in your browser. CompanionGrounds does not receive your transactions or spending totals. Read the privacy policy for the data stored, permissions and deletion controls.

Good to know.

How do I open the dashboard?

Once installed, sign in to Steam in your browser and open Purchase History, or choose SPENDING in the Steam Store navigation. The extension loads your history and displays the dashboard on that page.

Does my purchase history leave my browser?

The extension reads and caches purchase-history data locally. CompanionGrounds does not receive it. Steam still handles its normal signed-in page requests when loading more transactions.

Are Wallet top-ups counted twice?

No. Net Steam spend excludes Wallet top-ups and Community Market activity. Wallet funding and Market income and purchases are shown separately.

Does it convert currencies?

No. Amounts remain in their original currencies. Use the chart currency selector to explore each currency separately.

Where do the savings totals come from?

Savings use the original and discounted prices displayed in Steam Purchase History, adjusted for refunds. They do not estimate discounts that Steam does not show.

Is it available to install?

Yes. Install Steam Spending Companion from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons.

Steam Spending Companion is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve or Steam.
